We’re back with another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, more availability for the 2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins from authorized purchasers, as the US Mint prepares for the release of the first numismatic versions. Also, Glacier National Park Quarter launch, 40% silver Eisenhower Dollars, world mint coin programs, gold coins at the Stack’s Bowers auction, prices of Morgan and Peace Dollars, collecting large cents, ANA elections, developments in First Spouse Gold Coins, silver investment demand, and notable auctions. More of the 2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins are now available from US Mint authorized purchasers. However, the sales processes are more complicated, restricted, or convoluted than previous opportunities.

Meanwhile, the US Mint has released detail on the release of the numismatic versions of the coins. Pricing is $279.95 for the Hot Springs design and the ordering limit will be one per household.

The launch ceremony for the Glacier National Park Quarter was held yesterday in Montana, thee days ahead of National Park Week.

Dave Harper recounts the original sale of the 40% silver Eisenhower Dollars in the 1970′s. Although most of these issues were secondary market laggards for decades, the silver content is now worth $12.65.

An update on the First Spouse Gold Coins. The Buchanan’s Liberty uncirculated coin has sold out, Eliza Johnson has a release date, and the few remaining 2010 options had a price increase. A separate article on Coin Update News, suggests changing the size of the series to one-quarter ounce.

The Wall Street Journal reports on silver investment demand for in India, where some are selling gold to buy silver.

And now for some notable auctions. First, to go with one of today’s stories, here are the current auctions for First Spouse Gold Coins.

Next, an example of the 1923 Monroe Doctrine Half Dollar graded PCGS MS64 with color toning. This early commemorative coin features an interesting reverse design with two female forms representing North and South America.

Last, separate auctions for 100 Morgan Dollars and 100 Peace Dollars. These coins are in circulated grades with most of the value derived from the silver content.
