As usual, this BMW concept is pretty much the real deal.
The new BMW M5 has been revealed ahead of its scheduled embargo later this week—as usual, the company is calling a new debut a concept, but this is largely what you’ll see in production. A new twin-turbo V-8 will replace the last-generation M5’s naturally aspirated V-10, and it will hook to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Output is still undisclosed, but you can bet on 550-plus-hp, and perhaps as much as 600; for now, though, BMW says simply that the F10 M5’s power will be “significantly increased” from the previous car’s 500 hp, and that fuel economy and emissions will improve by “at least 25 percent.” We’ll have a full story with all the details on this “concept” soon, but for now, what do you think of the new car’s shape?
