We are back to bring you another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, the prices of certain US Mint gold and platinum numismatic products have been reduced. The United States Mint reduced prices for gold and platinum numismatic products earlier today. Two products are now at their lowest prices to date.

Here is an interview with James Bucki, who will be the new guide for the About.com coins portal.

Dave Harper shares some demographic information from Krause Publications that shows about half of current collectors started before the age of 20 and another 40 percent started after the age of 40.

The dollar bill versus dollar coin controversy continues to be in the news. Following a bill to replace the dollar bill with the dollar coin, Senators from Massachusetts (where paper for the bills is manufactured) have introduced a bill seeking to limit the production of dollar coins.

A new article from the PCGS Library on the Jackie Robinson $5 Gold Commemorative Coin. The uncirculated version still has the lowest mintage for a modern commemorative.

And now for some notable auctions. First, an example of the 2009 Ultra High Relief Double Eagle Gold Coin graded PCGS MS70PL (Prooflike). PCGS did not begin awarding the PL designation until more than a year after the release of the coin.

Next, a collection of the eight 1995-1996 Proof Olympic Commemorative Silver Dollars.

Last, a “Wildwest Collection” of 1882-1884-CC Morgan Dollars graded NGC MS 65 in a multi-coin holder.
