Is Nokia Committing Retail Suicide?

Gizmodo
The Lumia 920, lauded and yearned for as the very savior of Windows Phone, goes on sale today for $100. It's a pretty sweet phone! Not quite what we hoped it'd be, but a solid handset. But is the lower price a problem rather than a selling point? More »

Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Likely to Debut in Geneva

Car Reviews - 2010 Car Reviews at CARandDRIVER.com - Car Buying ...

Lamborghini Aventdaor RoadsterThe upcoming Lamborghini Aventador Roadster is set to make its debut very soon. European sources confirm to us that a topless Aventador is set to be revealed in December before an in-the-metal unveiling at the Geneva auto show in March (although it’s possible that the auto show debut could be pushed to Shanghai in April).

When asked about the possibility of the convertible Aventador’s debut—first reported by Car magazine—Lamborghini representatives declined to comment. What Raging Bull representatives would comment on is that report’s speculation of a four-seat Aventador; according to the folks in Sant’Agata, there’s no such thing.

The Aventador Roadster is expected to be largely the same as the standard Aventador: lots of carbon fiber, same 691-hp V-12. The only difference—spoiler alert—will be its roof, which is widely believed to be of the folding-hardtop variety. So if you’ve got $450k set aside for a topless Aventador, your wait is nearly over.

How Close Are We to the Age of the Self-Driving Car?

Traffic JamImagine a world without traffic jams, driver's licenses or car insurance. Sounds like science fiction, right?

Maybe not.

Last week, California became the second state in the country to pass legislation paving the way for self-driving vehicles. After arriving for the signing ceremony in a Google (GOOG)-designed, self-piloted Toyota (TM) Prius, Jerry Brown, the governor of California, acknowledged: "Today we're looking at science fiction becoming tomorrow's reality -- the self-driving car."

Maserati Confirms Levante and Ghibli Names for SUV and New Sedan [2012 Paris Auto Show]

Maserati Kubang concept

Maserati Kubang concept, which won't be called Kubang in production.

Last week, we boldly postulated that Maserati’s forthcoming Detroit-built SUV would in fact wear the Levante name instead of the brand’s forthcoming sub-Quattroporte sedan, and now the firm has confirmed just that. At the risk of raising the ire of purists, Maserati has decided to assign the storied Ghibli name to the new four-door.

For a company considered by most to be a niche manufacturer, Maserati is about to launch a relative whirlwind of new products. In addition to the Levante and Ghibli, the new Quattroporte is due to make its debut at the Detroit auto show next January. The maker has previously said that it hopes to produce 50,000 vehicles annually by 2015.
