Three Wheeled Electric Car Concept Looks Do-Able

Geeky Gadgets - Gadgets, Geek Gadgets, Cool Gadgets, Technology ...

Why haven’t designers embraced three-wheeled car concepts since forever? Three wheeled cars are actually well-balanced, highly modular, and compact enough to fit in tight parking spaces—all factors that are ideal in a busy crowded metropolis. An Asian design team has tackled such a challenge and what they’ve come up with scores high in our neat-o factor.

MET car

Dubbed the Met, the electric car is being marketed to small “single person” families who live near their work. What sets the Met apart from similar designs is its batteries. Instead of charging in a station, just swap the batteries with a spare and then zip to wherever your next destination is. The kicker is the third wheel behind the cab is the battery and instead of charging it, only a simple switcharoo is required and viola! Charging stations can even be installed at your home for optimum convenience.

The team behind the met prepared an elaborate set of promotional pics that explained the car’s functions. Here’s a few chunks of them:

“The number of single person families is increasing. For such type of families, big sedans are less useful because the size is associated with resource consumption and parking issues. What they need is the vehicle for daily journey to work for their own, or for the weekends for their dates. Naturally, the MET is the best choice of transportation for the increasing single-person families.”
