First, the start of sales of the Chester Arthur Presidential Dollar Coin Cover from the United States Mint. Today, the United States Mint began sales of the Chester Arthur $1 Coin Cover. Previous covers included a postmark cancellation for the circulation release date, but this coin was never released for regular circulation.
World Mint News Blog has the first part of coverage for some recent releases from the Royal Canadian Mint starting with the 2012 Maple Leaf Forever coins in platinum, gold, and silver.
The release that gained mainstream media attention was a 25 cent coin featuring the image of a dinosaur that has glow in the dark image of the skeleton. This article has the regular image, and this second article has the glow in the dark image.
