One Runner's 'Ah-Ha' Moment

I recently received this email from Karen, a new runner who is training for her first 5K:

"Last week I was feeling as if I could not really do this, but, you know how people have an 'ah-ha' moment? Well, today was the day for me, as I suddenly realized I was trying to race. Then it dawned on me. 'Stop!' I told myself. 'You need to go the pace Karen needs to go, not someone else.' Then I slowed down, got mentally in the zone, was comfortable with my pace, and went a mile and a half non-stop and felt great, without any effort. I guess I'm lucky I had that moment. I'll do the 5K Karen's way -- and finish!"
