Following their switch to the Euro, Estonia’s old bank notes will be incinerated to heat some districts, while their old coins will be recycled into new Euro coins by the Mint of Finland.

An interesting article which moves from the development of coins and money to a discussion of different ancient coins.

How many buyers will there be for the US Mint’s 2011 Presidential Dollar Proof Set? All four coins included have previously been released within two different proof sets, and the price has been increased by 25% from last year.

And now for some notable auctions. First, here’s the 2010-W Buchanan’s Liberty $10 Gold Proof Coin that recently sold out at the US Mint.

Next, a James Buchanan Presidential Dollar that displays a “triple date” on the edge lettering. It is authenticated by PCGS and graded MS64.

Last, a 1950 Proof Lincoln Cent graded NGC PF 66 Ultra Cameo. This is a tough find in ultra cameo.

That’s it for the update. Have a great weekend!
