Apple already do a good job, providing a good battery life on its devices and Macs, but a new patent unveiled yesterday shows that Apple maybe be able to improve further on the battery power.
The patent named : Increasing Energy Density in Rechargeable Lithium Battery Cells, describes a unique multi-pronged approach to the problem of poor battery life in consumer electronics and shows Apple is currently researching a new technology.
Called the “multi-step constant-current constant-voltage (CC-CV) charging technique,” which would increase the volumetric and gravimetric energy density of energy-storing material within a battery, providing us with more juice.
The patent details this new technology would allow Apple to increase the life of their batteries but keep the size the same or reduce the battery size I guess but keep the charge the amount of juice stored the same. Either way the new extra power can open more doors to including newer technology into its devices without running down the battery usage to poor levels. Unlike Nintendo with their 4-5 hours battery life on the new 3DS
