Neflix Drops Its ‘Add to DVD Queue’ Feature

This affects a lot of people - me included.

I can understand that they want to push their most profitable segment of their business, but come on!

A lot of what I want to watch is not available for streaming. I hardly ever access Netflix from myPC anymore!

This is a major step backward for Netflix. They are bucking the "mobile" trend that is sweeping the world. Let's see how long it takes for them to recognize and correct this error in strategic planning.

Netflix has issued an announcement via a blog post saying that it has removed the ‘Add to DVD Queue’ feature from its streaming devices, which now means that you will no longer be able to request physical rentals from the streaming side of the Netflix service.

The feature has been removed so that Netflix can “concentrate on offering you the titles that are available to watch instantly” and “improve the overall streaming experience,” according to product management director Jamie Odell.

However the move has not been appreciated by Netflix users complaining about their decision to remove the “Add to DVD Queue” feature from their devices as you won’t be able to add DVDs to your queue from either your iPhone, PlayStation 3, iPod, or set-top box anymore.

You can read the original Netflix blog post on their website.
