We’re back after the weekend break with another round up of coin collecting news and articles! First, the 2011 Proof Silver Eagle ordering limit removal. After two weeks of availability, the US Mint has removed the ordering limit for the 2011 Proof Silver Eagles. A limit of 100 per household was initially in place.
A report on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee’s discussion of the design candidates for a Congressional Gold Medal honoring the 100th Infantry Battalion, 442nd Regimental Combat Team, and Military Intelligence Service. The US Mint typically makes bronze versions available to collectors.
Coverage of the Royal Canadian Numismatic Association annual convention. The auction held for the event is expected to bring between $4 to $5 million.
An eleventh example of the Sacagawea Dollar/State Quarter mule error has surfaced. It has been authenticated by NGC and graded MS67, tied for the finest known.
Dave Harper will host an online seminar on gold this Thursday. The timing is opportune, as gold has crossed the $1,600 per ounce level.
