We’re back with another round up of coin collecting news and articles from around the internet! First, the United States Mint has confirmed the details for the upcoming 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set. The US Mint has announced the pricing and confirmed offering details for the 25th Anniversary Silver Eagle Set.

Louis Golino provides some impressions on the upcoming offering along with some expectations for eventual secondary market prices.

A new bill in the House of Representatives seeks to require the production of silver dollars for the U.S.S. Cruiser Olympia, a famous ship which served in the Spanish-American War and World War I.

Krause Publications has announced the 2012 Coin of the Year Nominees for coins that were released in 2010. The United States Mint coins include the 2010 Boy Scouts Silver Dollar, 2010 Native American Dollar, and 2010 Hot Springs National Park Quarter. One of the nominees is used for today’s coin image.

Efforts to recover a missing 1795 Gold Eagle that sold for $379,500 at auction have been fruitless. The coin was sent by Registered mail more than five months ago.

A collector acquired an example of the “frosted FREEDOM” variety 2007 Proof $100 Platinum Eagle for $45,000 worth of coins in trade. He also holds the discovery specimen for the $50 denomination “Frosty.”
